Cinnamon Apple Crisp

Ingredients

6 cups thinly sliced apples (about 6 medium apples)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. Castle Foods' ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. Castle Foods' ground ginger
1/4 tsp. Castle Foods' black pepper chef’s grind
1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Vanilla ice cream (optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F.
In a large bowl, mix together sliced apples, flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper.
Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Spread the apple mixture into a 9-inch baking dish and sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired
